Establishing Inclusive Learning Environments

Creating an inclusive classroom environment where every student can learn and be successful is a priority for me and is something I have demonstrated in all my Field Experiences and continue to educate myself on how to respond to the emotional and mental health needs of my students. Part of this process was becoming ASIST certified and taking other professional development opportunities that focus on inclusivity in the classroom. I have also attached my Action for Social Justice Plan that I created which outlines my commitment to attending online workshops to learn more about the BIPOC experience and how I can best be a change-maker with regard to community equality and human rights. The time I have spent researching and understanding how best to embrace diversity has allowed me to become an educator who empowers my students in the classroom. I am careful and mindful of how I address student needs and adapt my supports to ensure all my students have the chance to be engaged in my lessons.
