I’ve included two artefacts that demonstrate how I build positive relationships with both students and parents. The first is a customized Christmas ornament I received from the parent of a student in Field III who volunteers in the class frequently and who I had the chance to get to know. She saw how I act consistently with fairness, integrity, and the empathy I demonstrate in my lessons and very generously had this made for me as a gift.

I have also included a page from an “Advice for a Future (Super) Teacher!” book that my Field II class made for me. The kind words my student wrote for me came from a relationship I was able to build with them that stemmed from respect and genuine caring.

I’ve also included an excerpt from the Field III narrative assessment that my field instructor wrote for me that outlines some of the ways I build productive relationships and how I honour cultural diversity in the classroom environment I cultivate.
